Our Reports

We provide a range of KS4 and KS5 reports covering GCSE, A level, AS level and BTEC qualifications.

All of these reports are based on the principle of encouraging all students, whatever their prior attainment level, to aspire to reach the level of the top 25%. This ideal, of aiming to match the achievements of the top quarter, is common across all our reports and is a standard that holds at student, department and institution level.

Alps targets are aspirational. These reports are designed to support you in delivering our shared ambition of improving life chances for all young people.

The individual reports we currently produce are:

KS5 Consortium Reports

Our Alps Consortium reports have been developed at the request of schools, colleges and local authorities to provide analysis of student performance for those providers that swap students for some of their subjects. They allow senior managers, consortium co-ordinators and local authorities to objectively assess the progress being made by students taught across multiple providers.

Many schools and colleges broaden their curriculum offer by working in collaboration with other providers in their area to offer a more varied range of subjects to their students. This may include being either taught or assessed in one or more subjects at a second school or college. These reports provide a clear analysis of the performance of all schools and colleges within such consortium arrangements.

We are able to produce three different consortium reports:

  1. Consortium Provider Report (Individual School/College Report)

These reports provide information about both ‘roll students’ (students enrolled at the institution) and ‘taught at students’ (students taught at the institution). The ‘taught at’ analysis contains a powerful subject information overview.

  1. Consortium Overall Report

These reports combine all students in the group of providers as if they were in a single school or college. This report allows senior management teams and consortium co-ordinators to evaluate the performance of the consortium as a whole as well as the performance of individual students.

  1. Consortium Subject Report

These reports compare performance in all subjects by provider across the consortium. They contain information on the quality of teaching & learning by subject at each school or college over the previous three years. These reports can be used to inform decisions on which school or college is best placed to teach a particular subject.

Ordering Consortium Reports

Due to the more complicated nature of Consortium reports, and the unique requirements of each individual group, you will need to pre-register to receive these reports. Please contact us to discuss your requirements further. For more information please refer to our Consortium flyer.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about these reports.

Local Authority, Academy Chain, Multisite College & Group Reports

These reports provide a clear picture of performance across a group of schools, colleges or teaching sites. They facilitate strategic conversations about the quality of provision within the authority or group. The clear analysis they provide forms the basis of a common language with which all can discuss valuable improvements to both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 provision.

We work with local authorities and groups to provide individual support and tailored packages to meet a diverse range of requirements. These reports give you the benefits of the expertise that we have developed through our extensive experience of supporting local authorities and groups.

Through the projects that we have developed we have found it most effective to be able to provide:

  • Reports at the start of term – allowing schools to undertake strategic planning when it is most valuable
  • Analysis at both individual school or college level and across the area as a whole – giving a common analysis that provides a common language to discuss outcomes
  • Best practice group training to those involved in the project
  • Training for individual schools and colleges to help identify their individual areas of focus

By providing these elements Alps is able to help facilitate strategic planning, support and collaboration within local authorities and groups.

KS5 Monitoring Reports (A level, AS level & BTEC)

Alps Monitoring reports show you what your end of year reports will look like if your students achieve their monitoring grades at the end of their courses. They allow you to spot patterns of underperformance at both student and subject level and to make the decisions needed to prevent underperformance.

Our Monitoring reports do something both simple and powerful – they give you an early indicator of what your end of year value added report will look like. They allow you to assess the progress of your students while they are still on the course and to clearly identify those at the greatest risk of underperforming. They can also play a part in department reviews by clearly showing the accuracy of your progress grades, through comparison with your end of year report.

Monitoring reports are based on the progress/monitoring grades collected by your school or college throughout the year. We can also produce an A level ‘Monitoring Point Zero’ report which uses your students’ AS level grades to show what their A level outcomes would look like if they achieved the same grades. This report only includes the AS subjects students are continuing into year 13, providing a clear comparison against A level benchmarks.

You can submit these grades to us online using the Alps Data Collection Software. These reports contain the same depth of analysis as our main Provider reports.

KS5 Teaching Set Reports (A level, AS level & BTEC)

These reports give you a breakdown of performance across teaching sets. They are useful to schools and colleges with larger subject groups that have more than one teaching set in a year group. They enable you to take a focused approach to ensuring equality of outcomes for all students.

Our Teaching Set reports are in addition to our main Alps Provider and Monitoring reports. We are able to produce them for both your end of year and in-year Monitoring reports.

These reports contain the familiar levels of Alps analysis. They give you a clear breakdown by teaching set that enables you to see patterns of achievement within a single subject at group or teacher level. This level of detail is useful for internal performance review, for supporting teachers professionally and for helping with self-assessment reports or with Ofsted.

Our Teaching Set reports contain:

  • A summary of the score and grade for each department’s individual teaching groups
  • Subject page analysis containing all students
  • Subject pages showing only the students in each teaching set

These reports enable you to identify any issues in terms of difference in attainment within and across teaching sets. These reports empower school leaders to take positive action to ensure consistently strong performance across whole departments.

To order Alps Disadvantaged reports we will need your teaching set data. Please refer to our Alps Data Collection Software user guide or contact us directly.
